In 1830, at his Bloomsbury distillery near London, Charles Tanqueray began the production of a Gin that, according to his idea, was to be considered the best in the world.
Today, after almost two centuries, Tanqueray is still the reference brand for bartenders around the world. In the idea of Charles everything comes from the raw material, the neutral distillate of cereals of first quality obtained from a triple distillation in a modern column still: a very pure product. Then he takes care of selecting the botanicals that make up the profile aromatic from Tanqueray. Selected with extreme care, they are sent to the distillery’s warehouses, stored for at least a year and then reselected a second time. The cure and the attention in the production of this Gin is certainly the basis of its success.
Tanqueray N ° 10 was launched in 2000 as an interpretation of the Gin for the consumer of the new millennium. It takes its name from the “Tiny Ten”, a small copper pot still in which the heart of is produced distillate: fresh citrus fruits (lime, grapefruit and oranges) and chamomile flowers. The next step takes place in the copper still called Old Tom; the addition of a selection of botanicals that they confer balance and a clean and refreshing taste closes the production cycle.
